“If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days
in prosperity and their years in pleasure” (Job 36:11)
We are indeed the generation in whom the Father had desired to bless. Prosperity has become a household word that only a few care to find out its meaning .Prosperity is the attitude of becoming the person you were created to be,having all that you were created to have, making all the impact you were created to make.
It is a lifestyle and an onward journey that has no end. It is not a status neither is it the circumstance a person finds himself in nor is it an inheritance acquired from one’s ancestors. We can only acquire it and achieve our purpose when we obey God’s words and commandments.
Obedience releases God’s blessings to a man and sets him on high above the nations of the earth (Deut 28:1-2).Our fathers in faith prospered because they submissively obeyed God and His commandments.Ours won’t be any different .Abraham obeyed God from the day he was called and it was accounted unto him as righteousness. He was exceedingly blessed of the Lord to the extent that the scripture recorded that he had “all things”-he became very rich in cattle, silver and gold (Gen 24:1).
Isaac in the days of famine, moved from Lahairoi towards Egypt. The Lord God commanded him to sojourn in the land called Gerar .The Lord promised to be with him and bless him there. His prosperity was tied to that location. He, in obedience to God’s word “sowed in that land, and received in the same year a hundredfold of what he had sowed” (Gen 26:12). The Lord blessed him. He continued to prosper and became a very wealthy man.At this point,I want to implore everyone especially the believers to seek the face of the Lord concerning the geographical location where God would want them to pursue their career and vision. This is very important just as we have noted that Isaac sowed in the land God showed him, “he continued to prosper and become a very rich man”.
There is a particular space created for you to occupy and until you locate yours, you must always be tossed around. Many-a-time, the success of a person is dependent on his location. When you are at the right place and at the right time, God would locate you with His blessings. But when you are at the wrong place at the right time, God would simply withhold His blessings. It is the Lord that orders the steps of a righteous person and as well instruct and teach him in the way he should go.Joseph, Moses, Samuel, David, Elijah and Elisha were righteous men who prospered in the land of their assignment. The Lord gave them a sense of direction and also met their needs. The call to obedience is not necessarily to impoverish us but to prosper us.
Conclusively, any man that fears the Lord and takes pleasure in obeying God’s command is blessed. His children will be mighty upon the earth and his generation shall be blessed as well. Wealth and riches shall not be lacking in his house and he will continue to be prosperous forever. This is surely the word of the Lord (Psa 112:1-3).The men of old tried it. It worked for them. Try it too, it will work for you because no word of the Lord comes forth without fulfilling their purposes.Beloved, it is well with you.
