God keeps us here on earth rather than taking us to be with Him in Heaven because it is better for us to stay and tell people about Him so that they will understand how to have eternal life. He wants us to go into the world and talk about the gospel to all people.
Paul says in the Scripture that it was better that he stay here than to go to be with Jesus. He did stay and it cost him many problems. He had to endure prison, denying his own welfare so that he could tell people about Jesus.
Our government introduces laws but does not take into consideration that the laws they make are not necessarily laws that emanate from God.
Only today our representatives are on the phone trying to get money so they can fight a bill introduced by Congressman Feinstein. The bill is to “respect the rights of people who want to marry.” It is a bill that would cancel the marriage law voted on by people, to honor marriage of one man and one woman. Now, she wants to change it so that men can marry men and women can marry women, a natural alliance that contradicts God’s law.
It does not take money to fight a bill; it takes obedience of citizens to obey the laws set out by the Lord. His laws are our schoolmaster to teach us about how to obey and become born again Christians.
When the telephone rings, we are asked to stand by and listen to a very important bill that has been introduced. The caller tells us to wait for someone appointed by Congress to go to the citizens for money so Congress can fight the bill. What do they think they are going to do by collecting money to fight it? The only thing that will happen will be to give the Congressman more money to spend on being reelected. The thought behind this is really one of collecting money.
The callers use every persuasive argument for getting you to part with $75, $l00, or even $500 dollars so they can use it to fight the bill. How would they use the money to fight the bill? By writing scads of opposition papers, calling citizens, provoking them to part with their money. And for what reason? Please tell me how money is the answer to the problem.
The problem in the first instance is disobedience. A minority faction does not like the laws given to us by God. People set out to destroy our laws so they can disobey without feeling guilty. However, it does not take guilt away. Instead, it feeds it.
We are on the road to destruction. The only way, they think, is to fight this is to call for more money. The problem is magically increased. Disobedience wins. Instead of worrying about how to correct damaging laws, Congress needs to revert back to what laws our Constitution gave us to operate our government. Consider for a moment the construction of our Constitution. Nowhere can you find a better set of laws. It has kept our country the best nation in the world. We need no other document. We have the best there is.
What we need is obedience, obedience to abide by the Constitution, by the laws set therein.
We have allowed Satan to rule us. We have disobeyed the Lord. What can we expect?
Can we expect to have an abundant life, one of freedom, truth, and happiness? We have the Bill of Rights. There is no better document. It guarantees freedom. What better method can be followed?
We are a lost nation. We are on the verge of disaster. No one cares; everyone wants his or her own way. Our ways are disaster; we need laws to help us to stay on an obedient course. We do not need our selfish interests. We need the Lord. He is the truth, way, and the life.
When we consider our failure to obey, we can understand why things are now happening to hurt us. We have tornadoes, earthquakes, and accidents, and killings like the ones in the Chardon School. We have earned our troubles. We need to repent.
