A manís life

The start of his Christian life at the age of 14. Filled with Gods spirit and anxious to learn as much as possible about the bible and searching for ways to serve God. A young man accepts Jesus as his savior
During his final 2 years of high school, he begins to find peer pressure to socialize with friends and miss church. He begins to find things to do that was not Christlike, in order to continue to fit in. But he says to God, please understand that as soon as I get out of school, I will get back to living the way you want.
Then the young man goes off to the military and serves. It is somewhat difficult to live a good Christian life while serving with a lot of young men and women in various training centers far from home. There are a lot of things a young man can find to explore in life. Though still felling Godís tugging, he says, God please protect me and as soon as I finish my duty to my country, I will get back in church and work for you.
Then the young man goes back home and begins to work to make a living. Well, he finds the girl of his dreams and they get married and begin a new life in a big city several miles from their home town. As is the case of many young people, it is not long until a child comes into the world. The child is born with many medical problems and is required to be taken to a major hospital several miles from home to have major surgery within 24 hours of being born. The young man and wife call on the faith in their God, and on all of their Christian friends and relatives for prayer and support. Well God performed a miracle and the young boy lived. However, his health issues were far from over, everyone praised God. These medical issues brought financial demands on the young couple and they both worked, prayed and ask God to please just let the boy live. During the years they had a good Church family of support that helped in building faith in all of the family. The boy was to have multiple operations during his first few years of life. Each one of them being serious and each one was preempted by humbleness to God and pleads to God to bring the little one through the surgeries safely. Though the medical profession said that there was no way the little boy could survive, he continued to prove that with miracles from God, all things are possible.
Then, the young couple had another child that has a major pulmonary problem and is required to be taken to another hospital far from home for treatment. After being told that the young girl would probably not last 48 hours, once more prayers from the young parents and their family and their Church proved medical professionals, with support of God can witness miracles. So with 2 children that have been born with medical problems that were almost deadly, not just did the young coupleís faith in God increase but, the family and the Church Family all had their faith strengthened by the miracles.
With the financial strains as well as the continued medical and physical problems of the boy, the Father continued to feel the tugs of God to serve him and live for him. He rationalizes that God, I have this new job, young wife and young kids and I am really working very hard to try to make a success of my life and provide for my family, and especially pay all of these medical bills. If you will just keep us safe for a few more years, then God, I will serve you in anyway, you ask.
Over the years, multiple health issues come up with the boy and he has a total of 36 major surgeries by the time of his 12th birthday. Each surgery and each problem brings the family closer to God and keeps the Church family involved in the lives of both children. God answers every prayer during the many surgeries. The young couple become members of the church and attend regularly with their children. Ultimately both children accept Christ as their savior even though the man and wife still do not give their all to God.
They go to Church each Sunday and most of the time on Sunday nights. They would participate with the children if it was really convenient but, you know when both parents work, it sometimes is difficult to find the time to participate in the Church activities.
As the children grow up as all families have financial stress and the man is dedicated to his job and puts in a lot of hours trying to grow within his professional career. He still feels the tug of God asking him to work for him in the church and he says, God, you know how tough it is, you know how many hours I work, you know that if I donít give my all at work, I will not get the next promotion. I just need a few more years to get the promotion and then I can have more time to dedicate to the Church.
Well, the children grow up and become Christians while attending church and the man and the mother are so very proud of the great job they have done parenting. Then when the first child goes off to college, it puts a financial strain on the family and the both of the parents work even harder to try to provide a better home, car, and college education for the children.
Finally both children are grown. The man and his wife are so proud of what they have done however, they have to make sure that they have a nest egg. So he continues to dedicate himself to his work and continues the rise up the corporate ladder with each promotion bringing on more demands for his time than the last.
Then major health problems hits the man and he ends up having 5 heart bypasses at the age of 45. Once more, Godís grace and through the prayers of many, the man survived and recovered in very short order.
Then due to the continued deterioration of the sonís health, the son has to go on dialysis. Then in a few months, the mother donates a kidney and again, with the grace of God, and his guidance of the surgeons, both survived and the sonís health then improved for a time. The man continues to feel God tugging on his heartstring to do some work for God.
He once more bargains with God and says, God, if you can keep me healthy and keep my family safe and continue to bless me, when I get the nest egg put back for the grand childrenís college, and our home paid off, and a comfortable retirement nest egg, and get over this health crisis, I will work for you.
All of the stress from climbing the corporate ladder as well as all of the health issues with him and his son, finally takes its toll on the marriage. The man leaves and he and his wife divorce much to the disappointment of the wife and both children.
The man lives the life of a single person for several years worrying only about his job and his health and not spending much time supporting his family or God. But, he continued to justify the workaholic activities and his lacking of spending anytime working for God.
During the time following the divorce, the family lost the son that had been such a blessing not just to the family but to the church family and everyone he touched.
Uncertain of how life works, after 19 years of separation, the young man and his former wife are once more back together as man and wife. Though their son was called home to be with the master, they still have their daughter and they are both thankful for the opportunity that has brought them back together to spend their golden years.
As the young man went from a young man to a middle aged man to a senior citizen, he spent most of his life feeling God tugging at his heart to do more work for him. Well, finally in the so-called Golden years, he says, well God, I donít have much time, talent, energy, or health left but, what I do have left, God, I will give it to you. But, now God you have to understand with all of my health issues, and my age, please donít expect me to be able to work a lot. Oh by the way God, you know we have a limited nest egg and a very limited income, so donít expect me to donate a lot financially either.
But you know what, God still will accept whatever we will give him. Though we have received so many undeserved blessings throughout our lives, how sad it is to think of the blessings we have missed by not giving him our all.

There is a lot of writing between the lines of this story but, all of the facts are true. I just pray that someway, someone reading this will find something in it that will prevent them from missing a lot of Godís Blessings.
