To grow a friendship,
like ours takes time,
your love and loyalty,
like a light does shine.

To grow a friendship,
like ours takes years,
moments of laughter,
moments of tears.

To grow a friendship,
like ours takes care,
a shoulder to cry on,
you are always there.

To grow a friendship,
like ours takes heart,
that goes across,
the distance when apart.

To grow a friendship,
like ours takes wisdom,
knowing the difference,
of when to talk or to listen.

To grow a friendship,
like ours takes kindness,
always bring out the best,
and to the faults-blindness.

To grow a friendship,
like ours takes blessing,
a gift from God,
nothing new I’m confessing.

To grow a friendship,
like ours takes time,
and I’m so thankful,
that you are one of mine.
