Now I just like Columbus set sail for the promise land,
But my search is not of this world as soon you may understand.
God is the wind in my sails and the Dove is my heavenly guide.
The water of the Word is my ocean, as the knowledge of Christ is supplied.
In Hebrews a promise remains that we should enter His rest,
So we need to set sail to find it, and to give it our very best.
While sailing all over this ocean a passage was opened to me,
We’ll find God’s rest in Zion, for that’s the place He desires to be.
For the Lord has chosen Zion, and this is the place of His rest,
But how do we get passage in? Now this is the goal of my quest.
After sailing all over these waters then I suddenly started to see,
That the city of the living God is the place where we happened to be.
Now this Zion that He showed me, is not of this world you see?
But it’s found in the Spirit and in His word when we seek diligently.
Let’s turn to the book of Romans and we’ll see in chapter four,
The only way to this promise, is by entering through faith’s door.
Show me the way to Zion, where there’s peace and good will,
Where the promise God made to Abraham He has chosen to fulfill.
Now Zion is God’s holy hill, where He has placed His Son,
Saying the nations are His inheritance, just ask and it is done.
He is God’s only begotten, and God has made a decree,
That the ends of the earth and the nations, He has given to Him you see.
For God chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion is truly His love,
Like the heights He built His sanctuary, like the earth that He’s so proud of.
The Scripture preached THE GOSPEL to Abraham before,
In you all nations shall be blessed, to Abraham I’ve swore.
And if you’re Christ’s you’re Abraham’s, the seed of the heir,
This promise now I do decree, this promise I declare.
God gave the world His son, now to His Son He gives the world,
As we stand upon His promises and see His message now unfurled.
Let’s rest upon the second Psalm as God we do implore,
Oh bless the nations every one, from now and evermore.
“For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
(Isaiah 56: last part of verse 7)
And He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which He has established forever.
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, to jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.
Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of THE TRUE TABERNACLE which the Lord erected, and not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer. FOR IF HE WERE ON EARTH, HE WOULD NOT BE A PRIEST, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;
So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him: "You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.
“Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.” I will declare the decree: the Lord has said to Me, You are My Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.
For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation: “This is My resting place forever; Here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
“Sojourn in this land, (promise land?) and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; “BECAUSE Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.”
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.
For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the nations by faith, preached THE GOSPEL to Abraham beforehand, saying, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.
Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us....that the blessing of Abraham might come upon THE GENTILES in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.
(1 John 4-13-14)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes IN HIM
should not perish but have everlasting life.
"For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
"Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other, I have sworn by Myself; The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,"
Then the Angel of the Lord called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: "By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son, "in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. "In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice."
All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the Lord's, and He rules over the nations.)
"Indeed He says, 'It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also GIVE YOU AS A LIGHT TO THE GENTILES, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth." Thus says the Lord: "In an acceptable time I have heard You, and in the day of salvation I have helped You; I WILL PRESERVE YOU AND GIVE YOU AS A COVENANT TO THE PEOPLE, TO RESTORE THE EARTH, to cause them to inherit the desolate heritages; That you may say to the prisoners, Go forth,' To those who are in darkness, show yourselves.'
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this THE JUDGMENT, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, APART FROM SIN, FOR SALVATION.
But let us who are of THE DAY be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet THE HOPE OF SALVATION. For God DID NOT APPOINT US TO WRATH, but TO OBTAIN SALVATION through our Lord Jesus Christ.
(1 Thessalonians 4:8-9)
For He says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whomever I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I will have compassion." So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows Mercy."
For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUDGMENT.
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the God of gods! For His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the Lord of lords! For His mercy endures forever: Who remembered us in our lowly
state, for His mercy endures forever; And rescued us from our enemies, for His mercy endures forever; Who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy endures forever. Oh, give thanks to the God of heaven! for His mercy endures forever.
(Psalm 136:1-3, 23-26)
