It was a journey to a promise land,
it occurred in Washington DC;
A million men stood in the gap,
standing for their country.
Some pledged to be better husbands,
Others the father they need be;
Vowing to weed out their sins,
becoming men of integrity.
Painful memories of our nations past,
repentant tears washed away;
Churches of different denominations,
were in unison that day.
All Kneeling humbled before God,
Many were convicted of sin;
Praying for God’s forgiveness,
He cleansed them within,
As Jesus’ was shouted in harmony,
walls of the city did not fall;
But witnesses saw barriers tumble,
love spread across the mall ...
