INTRODUCTION
Scripture Passage: 1 Timothy 1:3-11

This discussion will cover the above passage. The author believes that this passage is important in these days and times. In these last days, too many writers are publishing doctrines and interpretations that are misinterpreting the Word of God. They are making the scriptures say something that is wrong. Leaving the scripture within its proper context will allow the scripture to give its own meaning and correct usage.

Purpose of 1 Timothy

The first thing in understanding the passage is why Paul wrote this letter to Timothy. Students of this particular pastoral epistle will know that Paul was Timothy’s mentor. He became the first pastor of this church.

Focal Point of Specified Passage
First, the NASB has a subtitle for this passage of scripture. It is entitled Misleadings in Doctrine and Living. Apparently, there were those who were dressed in sheep’s clothing, but they were wolves. The question that naturally comes to mind is what kind of “misleading doctrines” was floating around from church to church. This will take us to biblical and historical sites for the answers we need.
