Greece Wins the World
the great horn
It's a beautiful day along the Sea of Galilee. A soft spring breeze is creating crisp ruffles of white along the sparkling bluish-gray water. The smell of dead fish, rough wooden boats, and baskets of fruit which the townspeople are selling along the shore, fill the noonday air. A`ways up the hill from the sea, spring trees are blooming; their tiny white sweet-smelling flowers making soft low clouds above some of the townsfolk that have gathered to eat their lunches. Jesus and His disciples are walking along: crowds of people following them. Peter has come up beside the Lord; he has a question about the End-Times.
[The Lord turns
(Peter rubs his nose, and sniffs; the tiny white flowers that are making such a pleasant scene for the lunch crowd, are wreaking havoc with Peter's delicate sinuses. He sneezes loudly, and then speaks.)
"Excuse me, Lord!"
(Peter sneezes, again. He pulls out a raggedy piece of
cotton cloth, and honks into it, loudly. Then he sneezes again.)
(Peter attempts to speak once more: his nose is red, runny and
swollen; his raspy voice sounds as if a muscle-bound man is holding Peter's nose between his thumb and huge forefinger. He
moans, and honks into the raggedy, stained cloth
"Uh, as I was SAYING......"
[Jesus pulls out a
clean cotton piece of
cloth out of His pocket,
and hands it
to His disciple.]
(Peter accepts the
clean piece of cloth.)
"THANK YOU, LORD!"
(He honks again.)
[The Lord gives
a gentle laugh.]
(Peter snorts. Then he sniffs.)

[Jesus looks up at the bright blue sky;
two small birds fly over His head; they
chirp, and continue flying.]
"What was THAT,
(Peter stuffs the
used cotton piece of cloth into
his own pocket.)
"You KNOW: those
[Jesus stops walking, to pick up a stinking
dead fish in the sand; He holds it for a moment, and then
throws it back into the water; the little fish swims away.]
"What ABOUT them,
(Peter snorts again: squinting out over the
sparkling water under the noonday sun, his runny nose all wrinkled-up: was that fish really swimming AWAY? Peter reaches up, with the hand holding the fresh cotton nose-cloth, to rub his one of his red, watery eyes. Then he blinks again, and continues talking.)
YOU said that when
the TIME COMES...."
[Jesus bends down to pick up another fish; He tosses that
back into the water, also. It, too, immediately begins to
wriggle and swim away.]
"Peter, when we get
to Martha's house,
I will ask her to boil
herbs in water,
and put them into
a cup for your to drink;
that will make you

[The Lord nods.
Since you were SMALL."
(Peter squints out
at the sea, again. Then he sneezes.)
the TIME COMES...
one person is going
to get TAKEN? And..
the other person LEFT?"
[Jesus looks out
over the sea, also.
For a moment, He is

clean raggedy cloth
which the Lord has given to him.)

[Jesus bursts out
laughing. He bends
over to pick up another dead fish.]
[The fish begins
wriggling in His hand.
He throws it into
the grayish-blue water.
The fish disappears under a
breeze-lapped wave: swimming
[Jesus laughs again;
His eyes mirror the
midday sun shimmering over the
Sea of Galilee.]

all standing around Him, staring at one another.]

his head irritably at Peter. Peter snorts again,
and rubs his swollen nose. He continues talking.)

laughing again. His
laughter can be heard
throughout the crowds behind Him.]
