"Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul observes them" [Psalm 119.129 NASB]
One of the really amazing things I love about growing up in the Christian life is the ever unfolding beauty and startling wonder of the Word of God.
It's freshness, relevance and personal application of His mind and will, regardless of where we are, or what we have done, is overpowering and personally moves me to tears.
There have been many occasions, when we have been in deep darkness and confusion and, as we read the Word, light has come into where we are, as if penetrating through many coloured windows.
As a new convert, I attended a church which believed that we could know the Bible through memorization and meditation. That particular practice has kept me in good stead through the following years.
Now, there is nothing I like better than reading the word and then to find that the Spirit has opened a door, which I had not previously seen, through which, He reveals more and even more of the Lord. When that happens, adoration and worship are the only things on my agenda.
You may also have discovered that there is tremendous joy and satisfaction in hearing what God is communicating, and then sharing the same with those who are also spiritually hungry. This, after all, was the Lord's daily sustenance. He always had God's word for those He met and the effects were startling and amazing.
I have discovered, through experience, that if I want to receive the maximum benefit of the word, then, I have to exclude all un-edifying diversions.
Someone informed me that at the time of our birth is when we are most alert. I must have been born between 03.00-04.00! However, when we give our best to Him, He, in turn, will give His best to us.
