Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards.
Proverbs 12:14 (NLT)
Are you a professional football player? Perhaps you are a Nobel Prize winning chemist? Do you own a large multi-national corporation? Has your business been responsible for having developed a lifesaving medication? Are you a person whose professional skills benefited humanity?
You more than likely never accomplished any of the above does not mean you are insignificant nor what you have chosen as your occupation any less than anyone else. You who read these words may be a student working hard to earn a “C” grade in a mathematics class; a mother changing her infant child’s diaper; a father providing barely enough for a family of four working as a janitor. Despite a person’s age, gender, race or occupation is important and necessary. The quality of a person’s work is measured by their effort, not by their level of education, skills or wealth.
Sacred Scripture in both the Old and New Testaments give honor to honest and Godly effort performed on behalf of our neighbors, families and loved ones. This is regardless of whether the work is outside or inside a structure. For it is not the about the work one does but the person doing the work.
Prayer: Almighty Father, I pray that the talents You have blessed me with will bless and honor
You and be a reflection of Your love of humankind. Amen.
