When I look at you, tired and weary from your travels through life, I stand in awe of your beauty and the desire for you,and the love you show for me, and yet I stand also in wonderment as to why pride is allowed to rule and keep you from sharing your heavy load.
So many times I have offered to help shoulder some of your burden, your responsibility, your weariness, but you stubbornly say, “No thank-you, I can handle it alone”, as you continue to pile the baggage higher and higher, weighing you lower and lower to the ground. Is it pride, or just fear, and maybe a bit of arrogance thrown into the mix?
Then, as you pray, in one breath, asking for God’s help and wisdom and understanding, you turn, in another breath, rejecting the very answer your prayers seek, and then wonder in amazement why God does not fulfill your request, when all along that special help, that special someone, has always been there, waiting for acceptance.
If Love rejects a desire to grow, then how can it sustain itself from dying out, or just drifting away? Our lives must have forward movement, for an idle life gets nowhere, losing ground already gained, and keeping Love and Joy at a distance. Life passes so quickly, and if not careful, only Loneliness and Emptiness are sitting beside you, as you find yourself traveling a lonely ride home.
