Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel. So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.
(Ezekiel 3:1-3 KJV)
As we know, he did not actually eat the roll. It is the fact being pointed out that the messenger of God should be thoroughly acquainted with what God, through the Holy Spirit gives them to speak. It is never to be their message, no matter how good, correct, and no matter how true to the Word of God it is.
The message must always be what God desires and it must be delivered as it is laid out to the messenger, without one change in it at all. Devotion to the Lord, to His Word and to prayer and listening keeps the messenger able and free to hear the Spirit speak.
The messenger must be fearless of the wrath and displeasure of men; never speak out of concern for ‘political’ correctness, never speak out of concern for the size of the offering, never become a Charlatan and Snake Oil peddler, nor should he be a ‘friend to all’ so that he may fit into society and be invited to this event or that event.
Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.
(Ezekiel 3:10 KJV)
Stressed again here is the fact that the messenger is not to pick and choose what he wants out of the Word that the Spirit gives him, but the messenger is to deliver the ‘whole instruction of God’.
When a minister stands an delivers 100% truth from the Lord as he has been asked and told by the Spirit to do, the Holy Spirit then can work and create, convert, plant, water, grow and cause to become things that He desires. The Spirit knows the heart and if the minister is true to his calling he will deliver the Word, even though it may sting the hearer a little or cause him grief in any capacity.
Stand tall, have a spine of titanium, have guts to deliver truth, no matter what and let the Holy Spirit then do His work. If you are afraid, scared, worried and in thought of what effect it may have - - you are dead wrong. The Spirit knows far more than we and if He says do it, you had better listen.
The only way you can hear is to be acquainted with the Lord from a proper perspective and proper understanding of who He is through His Word. Not through some watered down paraphrase, not through some sinister minister with a skewed view; but through listening to the Spirit as you pray and read.
Go forward in Jesus name!
