God is Triune, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God made man in His image. God made man with a body, soul, and spirit. God made the soul to consist of the mind, will, and emotions. Our soul becomes oppressed by many things and people. Our soul becomes heavy, burdened down, confused, weary, disturbed, and restless. We need rest for our soul.
In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens and I will give you rest.” Come to me, Come to Jesus in order to receive and experience this rest. This is an invitation. Will we accept the invitation? We must heed the invitation of Jesus. Come to Jesus, ALL! Sinners and saints, old and young, rich and poor, just come all are invited.
What keeps us from resting is disobedience. Disobedience is sin and sin makes us heavy, burdened down, bent, mind confused, emotional problems, because you carry the weight of sin. Not only do we carry the weight of sin, but you look like sin, smell like sin, walk and talk like it! Jesus offers rest for your mind, will, and emotions. Come to Jesus receive forgiveness of your sins, then you have rest.
Hear God’s call to rest, have relief, refreshment, and renewal. When your soul is not at rest it causes your body physical problems. Therefore, get rid of pain, weariness, religious oppression, people pressure and rest in the Kingdom of God. Rest is continual not a onetime occurrence that comes from Jesus. Through the power of the Holy Spirit you will be continually refreshed with rest and peace. Accept the invitation, you are invited!
