Sometimes we turn a blind eye towards the very things that make us who we are, in a fruitless attempt to preserve that state. We forget that whatever got us to such a state in life is the quality that God brings about by His everlasting grace.
That is why someone said that talent can get one far, but it is character keeps that keeps them there. Unless one with a talent has the character to maintain the effects of that talent, that person is bound to fall from glory into the hades. But our God is merciful, he preserves those whom He has predestined.
We love you God, we do. I for one do; and so my friends do. It is because of your undying love, your everlasting grace.
In this year when we have earnestly asked for your grace to conquer the challenges we must face, God we ask for your forgiveness for all the times we have looked to satisfy our own desires in idolatry; willing to praise the offering than the alter on which it lies.
We are more than conquerors through thy word, in Jesus Christ's name, Amen!
