13[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins. -Colossians 1:13-14 (AMP)
We are almost a month removed or almost eleven months away, however you personally choose to view it, from the Christmas Season. Some people travelled distances to be with loved ones and were able to deliver their packages in person. Others had to rely on UPS, FedEx or even the USPS to make the delivery for them. When you verified that they got the gift and adored it, did you keep ringing the house day after day to assure it had been delivered?
You may be thinking that that was a ludicrous question. Why would we continue to question if it had been delivered, after we had already been told it was so? Do we have any reason to think that our family would lie to us about something such as that? Why then would you question God?
What about gift cards? My children love them! They are actually hoarders of them. They save them from birthdays, holidays, whatever may have been the occasion for them to receive them. Why do they hoard them? They have absolutely no doubt that once they have redeemed the value that they have on them that it’s done. Transaction complete, bought, paid for, and redeemed.
Today’s Scripture plays a very active role in my life, on a daily basis. I memorized these verses a long time ago. I pray them and call them out in praise to the Lord daily. I speak them out loud before the Lord, inserting the names of my family.
Why do I do this? I do it to remind myself and praise God in the process. I am not so foolish as to believe that I will not face trials and tribulations until Jesus returns. But the greatest weapon I have lies in knowing He is God, He cannot lie and His Words will not fail.
Isaiah 55:11 states:
11So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
God said His Word will not fail! I have an entire Book of His Words! My words may fail, but His will not. What does this mean?
It is completed. God left nothing undone except for you to make the choice to believe Him. It’s already been done.
Have you ever stayed at a fine hotel where they do everything for you? I am not talking about the little mint or chocolate on your pillow, but one where the covers have been turned back on the bed in the evening when you return?
David and I splurged, because we got such a deal on an off season resort stay, for our anniversary years ago. This place had it all. I would fix the pillows on the couch and David would tell me to stop. The butler asked if he could “draw us a bath”. I almost fell over. I was trying to do stuff for our assigned butler! He was actually laughing at me!
What is my point? It is done! It is finished! It is paid for in full and waiting for you to get it!
The Father, you know, THE FATHER, He has already delivered and drawn us!
From where? Out of the control and dominion of darkness! Satan has absolutely no control or dominion over you! How can that be so?
The Father has transferred us into the kingdom, of the Son of His love: Jesus Christ!
Just a little interjection or side note here: If your job transferred you or promoted you, would you still be under the previous boss’s authority?
You are now a kingdom resident of Jesus Christ. Bought and paid for with His blood! He is not going to shed anymore. It has already been done.
The warden of the prison no longer has authority over you. The price has been paid! Although that warden may want to shake those keys in your face, striking fear in your heart that he has the authority to lock you back in, laugh as you walk on by!
Raise your arms in praise! Thanking God the Father that He cannot lie! His word has to accomplish what He sets it out to do! And according to what He says, you my friend, have been “Delivered, Drawn and Redeemed”!
