“We are never too old to set another goal or dream a new dream.” - C.S.Lewis
I have a 95 year old patient with a mind and heart of a 21 year old. She has that special glow in her face reflecting her enthusiasm for life. She said that her favorite hobby is dancing, and gardening. She came with a fractured hip from slipping while she was tending her rose garden. She said she can’t wait to get better and do aerobic exercises again, which she also loves doing. Her optimism and zeal for life was so inspiring. I told her she’s blessed. She surely has blessed me just meeting her.
Every day, I’m amazed to see many opportunities around me. The modern technologies have offered us so many choices on what to see, listen to, and follow through. Just google a word or question and 99% chance you’ll get the answer. IPhone, IPad, Kindle, etc…can entertain us anytime we want, and anywhere we go. How different it was when I was a kid with only an old radio and a play phone made of empty cans to entertain me. Amazing how advanced we are now. It’s all because someone somewhere had big dreams and goals and decided to pursue them.
God has something big in mind for each of us, no matter how young or old we are, and no matter where we are in our spiritual life. In Isaiah 43: 19, The Lord says, “Behold, I will do something new, Now it will spring forth. Will you not be aware of it? I will even make a roadway in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.” It’s so refreshing to read God’s promises but more important is if we cling to them, and believe that God will do what He promised to do.
Setting goals is easy. It’s what to do with those goals that’s difficult. Someone said that if you want to make God smile, tell Him your plans. How many times I’ve made a project, started it, then somehow it got stuck somewhere. It’s because I tried to do it my way. I also failed to realize God has much better plans(Jeremiah 29:11).
Whether you’re 25 or 95, you can always dream big dreams. Believe and achieve. Let all the glory be to God. And enjoy your blessings.

What a beautiful article Gloria! As Peggy said, it has come at just the right time. I am beginning to do some things for myself such as walking. Even though I have no one to walk with I do have the Lord. What a blessing you are. Love you, Sharon
Dear Gloria...I can't tell you how your article has inspired me! I needed to read that - it was a gift. You share the lessons you learn from the Lord so beautifully - and they always seem to come at just the right time. May God bless you and may His love and wisdom continue to shine through you, dear Sis. With great love, SiS Peggy
