If we don't believe the first verse of the Bible, we will have trouble with the rest of it. A deeply religious person is one who prays for his or her in-laws. We feared Hitler would rule the world, but it is now run by a mouse. Our sins of greed, pride, jealousy, selfishness and foolishness led us into this economic mess, but secretly we want to promote them again, but they are cleverly grouped together called "consumer confidence." They say, "Sunday's weather will be good for fun and games," but never that it will be nice for worshipping God in church.
