A teenager picked a book from the library shelves to brouse through quickly. A paragraph caught the eye.
It told of a queen in middle ages history who decreed that all the books must be burned.
The Christians, wondering what to do, decided each to memorize some verses of the bible so when they were together, they could still have their cherished Word of God.
They chose two books. The chosen books were Ephesians and Colossians.
As a teenager, in wonderment, the question was, why did they choose those two books?
The years rolled by and time brought the knowledge of perhaps, the why.
Those books tell of a different calling, a different dispensation, than offered to the chosen nation of Israel. They tell of a heavenly calling, how His spirit can dwell within a christians life, of His grace, of newness of life and of being complete in Him.
There is a dispensational change at the close of the book of Acts. A break in time prophecy takes place from the closing of the book of Acts to the return of Christ for the Millennium.
