In Part 1 of this article,we have considered six reasons people read the Holy Bible.
In this concluding part which is the seventh reason,we shall consider:Reading for value. There are so many people that read the Holy Bible for value. They read it as a Living Manual or a Manual of Life. They read it to discover the mysteries of life-here and hereafter. They read it to know the heart of God,their Maker. They read it to live forever. The songs of these people are:
"This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. (I Timothy4:9)
"Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle." (2 Thessalonians2:15)
"Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine (of the Holy Bible).
Continue in them, for in doing this you will save yourself and those who hear you." (I Timothy4:16).
"that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing."(I Timothy6:14)
They totally believe that
16"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equiped for every good work." II Timothy 3.
My beloved reader, the question is now directed at you: Why do you read or study the Holy Bible? I advise that the motive must be to honour the invitation of the Lord for your benefits saying
"Come now and let us reason together,...
If you are willing and obedient,
You shall eat the good of the land..." Isaiah 1:18-19.
Please leave a comment and state reasons why you read the Bible.
NB:Every Scripture quotation is taken from New King James Version (NKJV) for parts 1 and 2 of this title.
