When little Johnie climbed the family tree
To see everyone that he could see,
He found one thing sure to be
They were all just like you and me.
What he found could shake the mind,
Those things they would rather left behind.
There is more to life than wealth and fame,
And when not reached, who is to blame?
In ten generations of those gone before
Johnie thinks there are one thousand twenty four.
Of those many ancestors, we know of so few,
So little of their lives and what they had to do.
It took all those folks that Johnie might be
Unique, complete, and just like you and me.
Now Johnie walks more humbly than before.
He hopes to share love and kindness more.
