I'm like an apple pie,
though I'm more apple than the crust.
You'll find I often say; 'you may'
rather than say; 'you must'.
I'm laughter, ask a child,
although I'm rarely recognized.
In fact, I'm prone to say;
'You are the apple of My eye!'
I am the milk in custard,
I'm the flour in the cake.
Whether I rise or flatten,
be assured, there's no mistake!
With margarine and sugar,
blended by your own strong hands,
we add each egg with
separated yolk or albumin.
