"If we shadows have offended,
Think but this, and all is mended,"
that while you slept in silent storms
I walked away from angry words
With unheard steps and stillborn dreams
I left your world in sunset haste;
no more need you, heed my cries,
or I attend your every wish
"This weak and idle theme,"
that with serpents strength you do esteem
renders selfish thoughts to foolish kings.
It lies upon the darkened earth
amongst apple glades rot with dearth
and sorrow of thy heart
But "to my captain, O my captain,"
to Him will I stand in awed affection,
to Him who asks that I call upon to voice concerns
will I acknowledge as my Father;
where you fall short, He stands strong
raised as the serpentine staff
to take our sickness as his burden
"O God, you are my God"
and should we find this life
"No more yielding than a dream,"
may we look again in heavenly gaze
to the one that first walked through my door
With gunshot swiftness are we saved,
as we die to ourselves to find new life
"Rise and rise again" each day
amidst the disease infesting our body and soul
and the corruption that only he can heal;
until that awaited trumpet call
when lions lie again, once more, next to lambs
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
