12/25/11 Christmas Sunday Pastor Michael sermon- What’s in a Name? Matthew 1:23-25
Vs. 25 Jesus is His Name
What we are named is very important. The name often shows one’s character. Jesus had a common name and he was reachable and touchable. The first 30 years of his life, he was a carpenter and was a ordinary man.
God will use ordinary people to do extraordinary things. God will even use You! God will use a nobody to tell everybody about somebody who will save their souls! God uses everyday people to do his will. He will see something in us that nobody else will see. Jesus is an easy and simple name to say…But there is power in the name of JESUS!
Say his name out loud if he has opened doors for you…JESUS!
Say his name out loud if he has made a way out of no way…JESUS!
We want the name that is more powerful than any other name…JESUS!!
When we get tired of the devil messing in our life, we can call on the
Name of JESUS!! The devil will flee!!
Have a little talk with Jesus and he will make things right!!
Jesus took us out of the wilderness of life and gave us a purpose for living. Some of us were in bad relationships and Jesus got us out of them. Jesus took a zero out of our life and became a hero in our life! Once we found Jesus, we discovered we didn’t need these other people anymore. We can call other names like Oprah, Muhammad, Buddha and they do nothing, nothing for us. NOTHING! But when we call Jesus, things start happening! Jesus Christ is Lord! No other name but Jesus can save your soul! Jesus’ name is exalted and at the name of Jesus things in this earth will happen. Things above and things underneath the earth will happen.
Jesus is our Advocate, our Lawyer, our Almighty, our Alpha and Omega,
our Anointed One, the Perfector of our faith, our Comforter, our Healer,
the Daystar, Emmanuel, the God with Us, the Friend of the sinner, our Good Shepherd, the Governor of our soul! The Great I Am!
Jesus is the Bread of Life!
Jesus said that whatever we need him to be……I AM !!
