The First Missionary

He came to bring the Good News. He left a place of comfort, a place where He was King. He came to a place where He would be humbled, humiliated. He was the First Missionary.

Here from the very beginning, He squeezed Himself into a human embryo. The Word became flesh and walked among us, fully human.

He was born in a manger. His first guests were shepherds who had heard the news of His birth from angels. Herod the Great sought to have Him killed. Herod was not the last to do so.

John the Baptist saw Him for What and Who He was and is.

He was rejected in His hometown.

He preached the Good News and was a great teacher. He still is.

And He did love in so many ways. He healed the sick, feed the multitudes, brought Living Water to the Samaritan woman.

And He died on the Cross for our sins.

He is the Son of God.

And He came to us as the First Missionary.

May we follow in His footsteps.

All glory to Christ Jesus!

Shalom, Art
