The air that I breathe

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

As I was studying this passage one time a thought occurred to me for the first time. What is it that I need for life? I need water, food, shelter. Then another need crossed my mind--air. Without air, the other needs are mute.

In Genesis chapter 2, the account of the creation of mankind says that God breathed into man the breath of life, and man became a living soul. Not only did I realize that I depend upon God every second for the breath in my body, but in order for my soul to survive I needed to inhale his life-giving spirit.

Jesus says He is the life. His words are spirit and they are life. My life...your life. Think about that for a moment. If Jesus was your only supply for air...you literally had to go to him each and every minute to obtain the air you need to survive--how close would you be to him? How far would you venture from His side? How long would you go without appealing to Him?

When this newly discovered truth became a grave reality in my mind, I shuttered. How many times had I gone days without being in touch with Jesus? How many times had I ignored His word or put off prayer?

"Lord Jesus, help me walk closer and closer to you each day. Help me to realize how much I need you now and every second of my life. You are my life. Amen"

The truth indeed, beautifully spoken. And spoken by the life of the spirit within. I recall this vision I had awhile back, reading this article brought it back to rememberance. I was entering into a hospital where I saw many walking about and some I saw on beds as the breathing machines was keeping them. In the natural those that are on these machines might be reckon partially dead. But the Holy Spirit was showing me how those on the machine was more alive than those walking about. Jesus is our life support. And those on the machine will thier wills unto Him. Jesus Christ is seen as the life support (machines in this vision). We have to daily let go of our own living and allow God's breath to flow in us, and through us, to work in us His will. That's living ! That's the air that I breathe. I pray that the Holy Spirit help me more as i learn to surrender more unto my Father I heaven. Continue to be a inspiration that breathes life.
