Have you ever stared blankly with unbelief at an ATM when you tried to make a withdrawal and on the screen it reads “insufficient funds”?
Sweat forms at the brow as you shift into panic mode! “How am I going to pay my bills now”, you wonder. You anxiously hit clear on the screen and swipe your bank card again in hopes that it was a mistake. Frustration causes you to hit the machine as the same notice appears again on the screen. Some kick it as they angrily walk away.
Frantically you recollect that in the midst of your busyness you forgot to deposit your last pay check and an automatic payment was withdrawn for a previous bill causing you to incur a penalty fee. Now whose fault is that?
If you are trying to make a withdrawal without first making a deposit it should not startle you when you receive a notice! Obviously there is nothing in your bank account to draw from! Regardless if you had the intention to make a deposit, that alone will not produce the funds!
Likewise, your spiritual bank will be void if you neglect to continuously make a deposit of God’s Word. When you need to make a withdrawal you will receive a similar notice “insufficient funds” and the penalty will be costly.
The bible is overflowing with promises from God to you. It is like a blank check. A check is a promissory note that will return to you the full value of it when cashed or deposited. Unlike a check written by man, God’s won’t bounce!
You can be confident in making constant withdrawals as needed. BUT remember to also make continuous deposits for when an automatic withdrawal (afflictions, trials, testing) comes, you have more than enough to cover it.
Rests assure that each day will have trouble of its own in which we need to gather strength and peace to overcome. We can rely on our spiritual banks to deliver such because it is a treasury of God’s stored words!
Say goodbye to notices of “insufficient funds”!!
