Phil 2:3-4 Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind let each of you regard one another as more important than himself, do not look out for your own personal interests, but for the interests of others.
Romans 12:10-13Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
You guessed it, we need each other. You need someone and someone needs you. We are not isolated islands.
To make this thing called life work, we got to lean and support, relate and respond, give and take, confess and forgive, reach out and embrace, release and rely. This is especially true in the God family….. Where working together is plan A for survival.
We are all good at cover-ups. Smiling faces often camouflage breaking hearts. Even between our casual relationships in between the pews it is easy to forget that a smile doesn’t necessarily mean “I’m happy” and the courteous answer “I’m fine” may not be all truthful. I am not saying we are all emotional time bombs waiting to go off, but there are those of us who have lived long enough to know that many a heart hides agony while the face reflects ecstasy.
I have heard it said that our relationships with our fellow brothers and sisters are like links in a chain… Take one out and the chain is broken. Since none of us is all powerful, all knowing, totally self-sufficient, lets quit acting like we are and take on the characteristics of Christ. Let’s link up as brothers and sisters in Christ.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
