Somewhat fun, somewhat sore
Spectators, Players, the competition is a roar
Oh! The feeling to kick the ball
Parents standing short and tall
Some would think, what a chore
The air clean and crisp, colors galore
Run down the field, out of breath
All in an effort, to do the best
A spot on the team, maybe start
Just show the coach, you have heart
Offense, Defense, who’s got soul
Beware of the player in the goal
Opposing teams, confidence is true
Confirmed only when they pass you
End of game, time will tell
If good sportsmanship will sell
Points on the board, some more, some less
Just to determine who is the best
