In a crowded room,
alone I sit,
my thoughts wander,
as I see fit.
I begin to dream,
while it is day,
the vision lingers,
in my mind it does stay.
A chain I see,
it leads to my heart,
it keeps me from you,
we are apart.
Though I may try,
it will not break,
and as I pull,
my heart does ache.
Here you are,
in front of me,
out of my reach,
but I can see.
Your hand out stretched,
you take the chain,
there it breaks,
as if under strain.
I come to you,
arms opened wide,
an embrace of love,
no need to hide.
I open my eyes,
you are no longer there,
at the wall,
I blankly stare.
No chain to my heart,
can I see,
your love has already,
set me free.
I store the dream away,
my heart already lighter,
I now don’t feel alone,
and each day is brighter
