In the days of old, when Marines were bold
And the stories never ended
Little did he know, that one day he would hold
A wife and a life well mended
Called the “Great White Hunter” by his family
Got his deer from year to year
Some more, some less, smiled from ear to ear
Once in his boat, his fishing he liked most
Almost caught our limit but lost them and we couldn’t boast
Treated all like family, nothing bad to say
Felt welcomed like a son and couldn’t keep me at bay
Six daughters, one son, married and on their own
All are Christians, must have been the seed he sown
Morals so important, the glue and fabric to hold
In the man, God is happy, a life made of gold
Husband, Father, and Servant, titles earned by few
Service was his passion, wisdom too!
