We might know of many who have become overnight celebrities and were raised from their lowly state to receive a celebrity status for having capitalised a given opportunity. Whereas you might be thinking that what I mean is money, name and fame, there are also instances of complete change in the soul, for ex. Zacheeus the tax collector, the blind man at Jericho..etc
"Now therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the LORD, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me a true token, and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.” " Joshua 2:12-13 (NKJV)
Also in the list of blessed people comes Rahab the once harlot, yet the only one from Jericho who was spared for she desired so and worked towards it.
The devil may have bound many in his worldly passions and from which many do really seek to get out yet are unable, remember God has not forgotten you, neither forsaken you, God honors the desire of your heart to leave the sinful life and live in His presence with a pure heart, and God will surely in His right time give you a moment of opportunity which you need to capitalise to transition from your lowly state to God's blessedness in your life.
Once a rich young man approached Jesus and after having presented himself in his self righteousness when the Lord asked him to leave everything, give to the poor and follow Him, the rich man could not do so and he went away with much sorrow for he was very rich and thus it was hard for him to leave his riches and follow Christ and that's it, we never hear of him any more. That moment with Jesus was his opportune moment for change and he lost it.
God is giving us countless time and opportunities today to receive Him as our Saviour, get away from all our sin & fear and thus be saved for eternity, we need to capitalise on those opportunities and thus become a better person in Christ.
God sees us, is compassionate towards us and has redeemed us, we need to receive Him in our life and be known through them for all the rest of our life, there is no greater blessedness than to be His forever.
