“No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.” (John 15:15,-NKJV).
The Lord called the lowly and despised
For His work and the Great Commission
He did not bid come the learned and the wise
But chose the foolish things of the world
To make manifest the Wisdom of God
The unschooled and common peasants
Divinely favored to be His servants
Hearts of flesh not conceited but yielded
No great credentials but gloriously fielded
Ready to serve and humbly teachable
Even when He taught in mysterious parable
They knew He would wisely and plainly explain
As perpetual servants they did not remain
The Apostles started with Him as servants
But grew and matured to become friends
This is the Lord’s desire for the Saints.
Friendship begins when He acquaints;
Mere acquaintance births deep relationship.
Not just called but chosen!
Not just chosen but friends!
Not just friends but the Elect!
Among the Disciples were the Twelve.
Among the Twelve were the favored Three.
Among the Three was the Beloved Apostle.
Let us seek that great grace;
Grace to measure up as friends of Jesus;
No longer servants but friends,
Knowing the heart-beat of The Master.
(John 15: 14; Ex.33:11; 1Cor. 1:26-28; Jam 2:5)
