Another year has passed and the Thanksgiving holiday is in a few days. These thoughts have been running over and over in my mind for several weeks now so I will share them with you.
I have heard people say, "There is so little to be thankful for"...probably because their focus is incorrect or they cannot see the forests for the trees. All of us can and should be thankful IN all things, no matter how difficult they may seem.
I am thankful first of all that God is God
I am thankful that Jesus came, died and rose from the dead.
I am thankful that Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to comfort, lead, guide and teach us. (which HE did).
I am so thankful Jesus accepted me as one of his.
I am thankful for the seasons, the cold air, the hot summers (even if it is miserable)
The spring rains and fall. Flowers, birds of the air.... beautiful colors
I am thankful for blue skies with beautiful white clouds.
I am thankful for the stars, the moon.
I am thankful for the material things...a comfortable bed, running water, air conditioning and heater.... for food on the table and neighbors.
I could go on and on of all the things I am thankful for but there would not be enough time or space on this venue to post it.
I think perhaps if we would all express to God our thankfulness more...by the time we 'think' we have finished all the negatives we were concerned about disappear.
Think about it.
P.S. I ALMOST FORGOT...I am so very grateful we have God's Word on printed pages (The Bible)...Without God's word from the printed page into our hearts we truly would be in trouble. "I will write my laws on their hearts".

I am thankful also, for many things.
I have survived a house fire, my mother and brother, and my only child dying.
I have survived also, cancer... my husband was diagnosed with cancer.. we've made it.
This is not all.. he went through 2 wrecks not his fault and survived them... one was a tractor-trailer where someone crashed into his steering tire and he wrecked in the desert.
We have all of that, and so many more things to be thankful of surviving. It feels good to be alive...
I've come through alot of dark paths in my life.
I thank-you for your comment on my article... about 'who will get my photos when I die?'
You are right... it doesn't matter... at that very moment I was experiencing the panic attack and went to my computer and sat down to write.. I was alone until I began connecting to the people who read what I write.
You really are right.. it doesn't matter. We just have to go forward and not worry.. but, first we have to get through 'those moments' to understand that.
It takes special people like you to tell things to us... and help us to see. Thank-you, again! :))) Granny Gee
I loved reading what you wrote!
Connie, I just loved your writing piece. Flowed nicely, the ending is grand and there were only a few grammatical and punctuation errors.
Overall a fabulous message and great piece as always. :-)
Connie, God has blessed with the ability to put your thoughts on paper, and with the knowledge of Jesus Christ. I am thankful for my church family and my family. I thank for the beauties of His creation--the San Juan mountains, the deer at play, etc. I am thankful most of all for my Lord and Saviour. We all have our down times, but God promised that if we love God, all things work together for our good. We may not understand, but we can still praise and thank Him in adversity.
AMEN - I have a strange one - I am thankful that I got cancer and have had my Lord take me by the hand and walk me through this all - I learned so much about Him and me and Mick through it all and it was uplifting, surprising and GOOD!!!
Connie, I liked this...God bless you and thanks for sharing...I am thankful for my family, who helps with the lonely times of life; to have someone to talk with, etc...
