"Now, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod, the King, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem saying, 'where is He that is born King of the Jews, for we have seen His star in the east, and are coming to worship Him'."
Every time Christmas comes around I wonder how people use that time to give God all the glory. During Christmas time, my mum would take us to the church, she would get us new clothes, we would eat a good meal for the year and we would visit our cousins and friends in that season.
But then when I think of what was taking place when Jesus was born, it is all a different setting in those days. Our King Jesus was born, heaven rejoiced, salvation came to mankind. This is even more interesting. Jesus, a free gift to us all, a gift we did not deserve. "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.
Look what happened then. When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea, the wise men came from the east to Jerusalem. They had a desire to worship Jesus. Jesus whom they knew not, but they had seen His star and they wanted to know where He was that they may worship Him.
Oh Jesus, did you hear that? ‘Where is He that is born King of the Jews, for we have seen His star in the east, and are coming to worship.’ Yes, I will worship you my King. Yes, I have come to worship you Lord Jesus. Oh Lord, make my heart your home. Here I am to worship you Father. Here I am to bow down and worship you Jesus. I am here to say that you are my Lord, you are my Father, I give you all my heart, I adore you, I exalt you, and I love you Lord Jesus.
Oh, did you hear that Jesus? You are worthy, you are awesome! When I have you I have everything, you are all I have ever wanted to have, that is why I have come to worship you. I enter in your courts with thanks giving!
Did you hear that Jesus? When I come to worship you my life never remains the same. You transform me for you are God, there is no other, you are God and there is none like you. You declare the end from the beginning for you are Alpha and Omega, I worship you Father.
Jesus, I did not deserve your love, but then you went ahead and died for me, how much and greater love had you for me! And now Lord that you are in me and I in you I will continue to worship you my King. Purify my heart, make it clean, that I may worship you with a pure heart.
King Herod only wanted to do harm to Jesus, he didn’t know that Jesus was a King, a savior of the world, but when this truth hit him, all he wanted to do was to get rid of Jesus, the savior of mankind. His intentions and motives were wrong toward Jesus. Oh, did you hear this Jesus?
Oh, that my intentions would be pure! All I want to do is to worship you Jesus, with a pure heart; I want my praise, my worship, my prayers, my sacrifices to come before you that they may be like sweet aroma in your nostrils! Yes, I come before you Father, search my heart and if there is anything within me that pleases you not, remove it Lord. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin, purge me with the hyssop and I shall be clean, wash me and I shall be whiter than snow and more so Lord, restore unto me the joy of your salvation and never cast me away from your presence oh Lord.
And now during this Christmas, may you come and worship our Lord Jesus. If you haven’t received Him into your life then it is a high time that you did so. He so cares for you, and yes, Jesus heard your prayers. He understands you better than anyone else, and am sure that my Jesus will save you from all that you are going through and more so give you eternal life, a free gift which we never deserved but is willing to listen to our prayers.
Receive Jesus today, let Him be birthed into your heart and your life will never be the same again. May you fall down and worship our King, Jesus who is the reason for this season!
