Jesus did not just teach us about the kingdom of heaven, but to more effect showed us the magnificence of our God through the way he lived his life, which supported his teachings and most importantly, brought people to believe in him.
Teaching is one thing, but to live out what we teach and talk about God is another. So let us be like the wise builders who hear the word of God and puts it into practice, by showing the glory of God through our actions.
Every day we should do what Jesus would do and show God's love through our every actions, even if it is doing little things such as being helpful to others or patient in tough situations; if it is good deeds that make non believers desire to know about Jesus then it's definitely worth it.
We see in Acts just how the number of believers increased when the apostles started showing the work of God through them, by healing the sick and performing miracles which left crowds amazed at the power of Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 6:6
'We show we are servants of God by our pure lives, our understanding, patience and kindness'.
The key word here is show, because I strongly believe showing who God is to unbelievers is very effective.
Mark 1:31
'So Jesus went to her bed took her hand and helped her. The fever left her and she began serving him'.
Again, we can see that once Jesus revealed the wonder of God to her by him healing her, she began to serve him and believe.
Likewise if we can show how Jesus works in us by showing God like characteristics, people will desire a greater knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
So with God and in Jesus' name we too can also increase the numbers of believers. For nothing is impossible with God. Remember we are like salt so let us make others thirsty for our Lord Jesus.
