The Samaritan woman already under the burden of guilt and leaning upon the only hope of the belief on the patriarch Jacob encounters the Lord of all, even of him on whom she tried to lean, Who now had a better offer for the thirsty than the traditions.
"but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14 (NKJV)
We can never when in our right mind and with a perfect conscience deny the fact of the existence of our spiritual personality, for we are created in the image of God and to continue as we are created we need God in our life.
Nothing and no one else can satisfy our souls except Christ alone and thus we see in the world today that when many seek to be satisfied by worldly pleasures, they keep hopping around the variety of sins the devil can offer and all through the attempt is just to be satisfied.
Jesus said in the verse above that He can quench our thirst and just not only that we will be satisfied, but added to that what Christ gives will become a fountain of water unto eternity.
I believe I had stated this good example earlier also of a car made to run on petrol would run the best on petrol, any other type of fuel, however good it may seem will only harm the goodness of the car, thus is with our life, when created in the image of God, we can be satisfied only by God, all others sources of seeking satisfaction are futile, vain and void.
Stating clearly to the Samaritan woman, Jesus also speaks to us about Who can really quench our thirst and do it the best way..it is God alone.
All are thirsty and for sure an attempt will be made to quench the thirst, however now that we know where the real source of all our goodness lies, let's go to God and seek His presence and be in His will always and be eternally blessed.
