Halloween is a time where kids and adults dress up in costumes, try to scare people and trick them out of candy and treats. Whether you celebrate Halloween or not, its fun to try to scare people and catch them off guard.
The Bible says there is one that we should all fear: the one who created the universe in perfect order, from huge planets down to tiny cells and everything in between. This one to fear knows every living detail about us from before our birthday to our very last breath and beyond. Make no mistake. Our God has massive unlimited power and abilities, more than anyone else on Earth. He is thousands, yes billions times greater than any imaginary superhero ever created.
The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. But why should you fear someone who seems invisible? God is always watching us, hoping we will make good choices that are pleasing to Him and His commandments. He went through a lot of trouble for us, even allowing His own Son to die. He does love us, but He wants us to listen to Him and not do things our own way. He left instructions in His Word as a warning to keep us off the wrong path. If we do not listen to His commandments and His teachings, we put ourselves in danger, not only in this life, but forever.
The great thing about God is that he is also merciful and forgiving. If we ask forgiveness, He will help us keep from sinning again and forgets our sin even happened. But He does not like to be taken for granted. There is too much at stake.
When we grow in faith and follow Gods commandments, He gives us power that the world doesnt have. We dont have to worry because God is in control, and He will take care of us, no matter what happens as long as we have faith in Him.
