1 LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED: YE BELIEVE IN GOD, BELIEVE ALSO IN ME.
2 IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE ARE MANY MANSIONS: IF IT WERE NOT SO, I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU. I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU.
3 AND IF I GO AND PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU, I WILL COME AGAIN, AND RECEIVE YOU UNTO MYSELF; THAT WHERE I AM, THERE YE MAY BE ALSO.
4 ¶ AND WHITHER I GO YE KNOW, AND THE WAY YE KNOW. John 14.

When the Lord laid it to my heart to share this topic with you, I know God is up to reveal something. This scripture passage is the word of Jesus to His disciple when He was about completing His earthly ministry.

We discover two important points in verse 1,

1. DON’T ALLOW ANYTHING TO TROUBLE YOUR HEART.

This shows that we have total control over the condition of our hearts. We can choose to allow emotional breakdown, troubles, dejection, rejection, deflated self esteem, and such things to dominate our hearts. When we tend our thinking towards negative side of life, we are surely going to experience troubles. But when we have positive thought, irrespective of what we are going through, trouble will have no place in our hearts.

2. FAITH IN GOD AND IN CHRIST.

This is showing to us the oneness of God and Jesus. Jesus told Philip in verse 9 that anyone who has seen him as seen God. It also reveals to us that where faith is, trouble cannot operate. Faith in God dispels trouble of any kind. When Jesus said ‘let not your heart be troubled’ He went further to say ‘believe in God, believe also in me’

Verses 2&3 speak about

1. FACTS ABOUT THE FATHER’S HOUSE (GOD’S KINGDOM).

Jesus gave us a fact that there are many mansions in God’s kingdom. There is enough space to receive anyone who chose to come to God through Jesus Christ. He didn’t promise us huts, but mansions. Anybody who serves God till the end will have a mansion to himself in paradise. Another fact about God’s kingdom is abundant provision to meet every need. Remember the story of the prodigal son. After squandering his inheritance, he repented and made a statement thus: ‘How many hired servants of my father's have BREAD ENOUGH AND TO SPARE, and I perish with hunger!’ Luke 15:17. Whatever your needs are, they are available in God. You desire prosperity, healing, deliverance, blessing, breakthrough, promotion, eternal life, Holy Spirit baptism, victory, and so on? They are all waiting for you to possess in God.

2. THE KINGDOM PROMISES

Jesus did not just tell us about the treasures available in God’s kingdom, he went further to make promises to give us these treasures. He promised to go and prepare a place for every individual who puts his faith in God, and also promised to come back and take us to benefit from the promised treasures. The bible is not just telling us about God’s ability to heal, bless, deliver, uphold, liberate, defend us; it also wants us to experience these blessing in our lives.

In verse 4, we discover

1. THE PROMISED PLACE (whither I go…)

The promised place is not just a physical place, but also an experience. Those who believe in God and have accepted redemption through the sacrificial death of Jesus are not only going to Paradise (Physical), but they will also experience the glory, power and honour of that kingdom while they are still alive.

2. THE WAY THERE

Having known the promised Father’s house and what awaits believers in Christ there, it is necessary that I shall with you the way that leads there. Nobody wants to end up in hell. Everybody wants to enjoy the kingdom treasures here on earth and get to paradise to live eternally with God. But it is not everybody that knows the way to have these desires met.

What did Jesus say when Thomas asked him to show them the way in verse 5 (Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?)?

Jesus responded by saying ‘I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME.’ Verse 6.

Can you hear that? Jesus is the only WAY that can lead you to God. You want salvation, go through Jesus. You want deliverance, blessing, breakthrough, promotion,…from God, you must go through Jesus. No other way to reach God except Jesus.

WHEN YOU COME TO THE FATHER’S HOUSE BY BECOMING A CHRISTIAN, EVERY BLESSING MEANT FOR HIS CHILDREN IN THIS WORLD AND IN ETERNITY WILL BE DELIVERED TO YOUR HANDS.
