THE WORLD AND ALL THAT’S IN IT—

With the internet so accessible and prevalent, it is now easily possible to see actual photos of people. flora and fauna, mountains, lakes, oceans and ships at sea—and almost everything on earth with our very own eyes. With good working imaginations we can envision ourselves there talking with the people, seeing how they live, standing on the precipice of a canyon with no visible bottom. We can see wherever the camera can go, and it seems to be able to go almost anywhere. We can see how people live and who they actually are and how they spend their time. To be able to share the whole wide world with the people who live in every corner of it is a remarkable gift of knowledge. It’s almost like going from living in a one-room attic to a multi-roomed mansion.

There are some great peripheral gifts to be had also in addition to enjoying and sharing the photos. It ought to remind us into startling recognition of the oneness of us all. One creation shared and one Creator also shared. We may look quite different on the surface, but in the last basic analysis, we share more likenesses than differences. Having unbridled access to this knowledge of all the inhabitants of the planet ought to increase our faith in God, make us love one another more and lift our eyes and footsteps to higher ground. We are not little segregated pockets of people. We are all people created by God to love Him and one another. And now it is easily possible to survey the magnificent universe with its infinite variety of people, places and things, and fall at His feet in Holy Wonder at the immensity of it all. What a gift we have been given to see and share the knowledge of our world and its people!
