She awoke to a light,
brilliant with rays.
Beside the clear stream,
she found that she lay.
Her pounding heart,
still stirring from
another poignant dream
in which He did come.
The season was autumn.
She wore a dress
Woven from cotton;
a threaded mess.
It flowed from her waist,
the sheer silk gleaming
behind her as she ran.
His presence was certain.
Her hair was long,
lustrous and brown
Her voice was clear,
like a birds’ song.
He was on His way;
she could feel the earth shake.
He was reaching out His hand,
bidding for her to take.
She treaded the ground
beneath her feet
covered with autumn’s
freshly fallen leaves
The trees were golden,
and flaming red.
"I'm here, I'm here!"
she desperately said.
Then the wind became brisk
and took Him away,
back where He came from
and she where she lay.
