Are you ever weary of working hard, of disappointments, of struggling from day to day? If so, my friend, you need rest.
You look to SELF— you can't find it there. You look to FAMILY AND FRIENDS— they're in need of rest too. You look to the WORLD— they offer a temporary fix.
TRUE REST is found in GOD ALONE. Apart from Him, the soul is like the troubled sea driven to and fro.
Did you know that rest is important to God? Even He, the Lord God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth, rested from His works. Gen 2:2-3
If only we would set aside the day that God commanded us to rest physically. Oh, how our weary souls would be refreshed and renewed.
My friend, God did not promise a life without problems, but He did promise to give you rest through them.
And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Exodus 33:14
Rest from burdens- Mat 11:28
Rest from fears- Mat 10:31
Rest from worry- Mat 6:31-32
Rest from enemies- Lk 10:19
Rest from sickness- Mat 8:17
Rest from trouble- Psalm 46: 1
Rest from heartache- Joh 14:27
Eternal rest- Rev 21:4...
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW

My God how I needed to read this...sometimes we become so busy we don't realize we're doing nothing more than running in a circles...thank you for reminding us to rest...lay down our burdens and rest in the Lord in Jesus Name! Thanks so much Patricia - was recovering well from my breast cancer surgery - and am up in the middle of the night because I was having nightmares (from the pain med I think) when I don't sleep I am ok -so in this case even sleep is not rest but being with the Lord and reading your new piece is!
