According to the Book of Genesis, “in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” He then created light on the first day, before creating the lights on the fourth day – the greater to rule the day and the lesser to rule the night. “He made the stars also.” Toward the end of day six, Elohim created Adam and Eve in His image and after His likeness. Until this point, Yahweh had seen what He had made that it was good. But the seventh time He “saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good.” Whatever the Creator made was perfect. Out of the shapeless void and darkness came beauty and life in its diversity. Some things He created small, others large and there were those that were made sublimely prodigious. I believe Adam’s frame and makeup, aside from being perfectly symmetrical, was extremely impressive in anatomical proportions. He was made “a little lower than the angels.” Eve was not any less striking although slightly smaller. There were mammoths and then there was the great leviathan. Archaeology has revealed the fact in the fossil record of creatures we know nowadays as dinosaurs. They have erred greatly on the timeline, twisting the facts to make them fit their erroneous theories. In truth, man existed side by side with the great beasts.
Back then men did not find it unusual to converse and walk with angels. If in the present day some have the sixth sense, then it’s logical to assume that the early humans possessed the seventh sense. In the prolonged years, they played out their drama upon the stage of existence and because the sons of God fully exercised the spiritual centres of their brain, they were capable of feats that are too marvellous for our minds to even begin to grasp. Why would you need mobile phones or the internet if you can communicate telepathically? With such advanced minds, there was no cause to devise a computer. Besides, they had not yet overspread the earth and had no need to invent flying machines. They were just beginning to build settlements and monuments and conquer virgin land. We cannot speak of lands as the earth was one in those days. It was not until after the flood that the continents formed. In the days of Peleg was the earth divided. At this stage the people still spoke one language. Ideas were passed on much more clearly and easily. With generations spanning centuries and overlapping, the need to have a written record did not arise. Adam knew God face to face. Enoch, the seventh from Adam, knew his greatest grandfather face to face for slightly over three centuries. Methuselah, the eighth generation of the sons of God, knew Adam face to face for just under two and a half centuries. Noah knew Methuselah face to face for exactly six centuries.
Following the fall of man things began to take a downward spiral, as the signs of death and decay gradually became evident. With every successive generation the curse of sin became more and more pronounced. The first humans enjoyed the privilege of learning directly from the Omniscient One. Sadly, with the passage of time this honour was slowly withdrawn; as man degenerated to a point where ‘every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.’ The antediluvians were of immense stature and far superior intelligence to what ‘modern man’ now possesses. “There were giants in the earth in those days.” The knowledge they acquired over nearly a millennium of their lifespan, we can only imagine today. Omnipotence determined that this trend should not continue. The gift that was so graciously given had been marred. The sons and daughters of men had made a bond with fallen angels and thus corrupted their ways. Such was the seed of Cain. The Nephilim had to be blotted off the face of the earth and the life expectancy of Adam’s race gradually reduced to a hundred and twenty years.
He, who was created to tend the Garden of Eden, now had to till the earth from whence he came with much toil and sweat. The ground was no longer pliable and amenable to man’s hand. It became hard and unyielding and bore thorns and thistles, in order to ever remind him of what had been lost. The sun above his head also began to scotch his skin, having been expelled from the canopy of Eden. By the time of the deluge the power of the Divine sentence (“for dust thou art and unto dust shalt thou return”), was brought to bear upon mankind. All the technological progress and civilisation achieved over a millennium and a half would be suddenly gone. Noah, his wife, sons and daughters-in-law, were the bridge between the old world and the new. The Almighty had preserved eight of Adam’s seed, to begin afresh and replenish the earth. Enough time had been given and sufficient warning delivered. Enoch preached it for three hundred years. Methuselah (it shall come when he dies) was the living sign. Noah took up the mantle and sounded the admonition for one hundred and twenty years. Divine forbearance waited until everyone had heard the message. And in the year 1656 (Anno Mundi) at the ripe old age of 969 years, Methuselah died and was gathered to his fathers. God in His mercy granted a seven day grace period, in honour of His servant, that he might be mourned and put to rest according to the tradition. Finally the door was shut and the floodgates of heaven were opened and the fountains of the great deep broken up. There was no escape for those without the Ark.
At the present time men are greatly diminished in height, intellectual and spiritual capacity. Declension and vanity is so ubiquitous and rampant that the antediluvians would seem like amateurs in comparison. They have sort out many devices to perpetrate wickedness. There are those who would use science to try and regain the pre-fall status of Adam. They propose that through selective breeding or genetic engineering they can produce the so called Aryan race. Some are under the illusion that they could achieve this by mixing human and alien genes - a deception contrived in the bowels of hell. For the so-called aliens, are none other than the demons of ancient times. The only way to regain that which was lost is to get back to the Source. Rather than marvel and seek to understand why knowledge has rapidly increased over the last three hundred years, men engage in vainglory and pride, thinking themselves far superior to past generations. One fact they miss, is that there is a purpose to what is happening. Because the earth is overspread and populated and men have both rejected and denied God, it was necessary to create a state of affairs where everyone will have the opportunity to hear the message in the privacy of their own sanctum. After all, the churches are abandoned. And because of the urgency of the times and the sheer nature of the day of the Lord, everyone should at least have had the opportunity to decide for themselves (having heard the counsel). Where sin abounds, the grace of God abounds all the more.
Unlike the world before the flood, we are only on planet earth for a brief period, at the very most a century, in which to act our part in the grand drama we call life. Swiftness is of the essence. The prophets foresaw this and penned it in the account of the visions concerning ‘the time of the end.’ It was imperative that the Assyrian should reveal himself and also the iniquity of the Amorites must be complete. The sixth day is far spent. The seventh is the Sabbath. Most students of prophecy observe that we are in the eleventh hour. Much like in Noah’s day scoffers and reprobates abound in these last days, who would attempt to make the word of God of none effect. This they do to their own peril. There are striking parallels that even the careless observer would not fail to notice. The Ark is the Church. The Son of God tells us, they would be eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. And as in the days of Lot, when they feasted and partied, married and gave in marriage and built houses for themselves, so shall be the days of the Son of man. In other words, it shall be business as usual until probation closes. As the world then was overwhelmed by water, this time it shall be consumed by fire. It is baptism on an epic scale. The water verily destroyed the flesh, but the spirit of rebellion remained. The judgement then was for flesh and blood. However, this time the evil spirits will be partakers. The fire shall leave neither root nor branch and will utterly obliterate, similarly to Sodom and Gomorrah. ‘And Scripture cannot be broken.’ At the time appointed, it shall come. “Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.” Amen!
