How could he die? He proceeded from God, called the only begotten of God, performed great miracles that could be done by God alone, called himself ‘one with God’ and yet he died through the cruelty of wicked men. What actually happened? He said he could call legions of angels from heaven to come to his aid, but he didn’t do it. He gave himself up to die, not honourably, but like a criminal on the cross.
Why did he go through such great suffering and pain? Smitten, spat upon, with a crown of thorn forced to his head, and with a side pierced by the enemies’ swords. WHY DID JESUS GO THROUGH ALL THE SUFFERINGS HE WENT THROUGH?
He suffered to deliver you from your suffering. He died to make you alive forever
FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE. FOR GOD SENT NOT HIS SON INTO THE WORLD TO CONDEMN THE WORLD; BUT THAT THE WORLD THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED. John 3:16-17.
When humanity fell from grace to grass, from life to death and from hope to hopelessness as a result of sin, he started a journey of eternal doom and damnation. He lost the nature of God in him. He became a slave of satan. And as a slave, he became exposed to sorrow, suffering, sickness, starvation, stagnancy,….. Sin does not only destroy the nature of God in man, it also separate man from God.
To rescue the falling man called for an emergency rescue operation. God’s spirit that came into the lump of clay to make it living soul is at stake. God could not afford to loose His spirit. You know dust (flesh) will return to dust (earth), and it is expected that God’s spirit that made you a living soul should return to God. But souls of many are going to hell. What then is the remedy? How could these lost souls be redeemed? Read these:
BUT GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US. Romans 5:8
FOR I DELIVERED UNTO YOU FIRST OF ALL THAT WHICH I ALSO RECEIVED, HOW THAT CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES; AND THAT HE WAS BURIED, AND THAT HE ROSE AGAIN THE THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURES: 1Corinthians 15:3&4.
God used the death of Jesus to redeem your life from death. He used his suffering to deliver you from suffering. He went through pains and agony so that you will not go through the same. He died that he may give you eternal life. ‘I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly’ says Jesus. John 10:10.
To be a partaker of peace and eternal life brought to humanity through Jesus suffering and death, you need to allow Jesus to lead your life. Confess you sins to him and invite him into your life. He will take you up from that point and your life will begin to enjoy every good thing available for those who believe God by accepting Jesus.
DON’T FORGET THAT JESUS SUFFERED SO THAT YOU WILL NOT SUFFER, AND DIED SO THAT YOU CAN LIVE FOREVER.
