My daughter Jill and her friend Erica often went with Erica's grandparents to help clean the church. They helped put the songbooks in order and dust pews, before playing house with their dolls until the grandparents were finished.
The girls had long hoped for snow, so one winter morning at the church, they knelt before the altar, said their night prayers together, and said another little prayer for snow before straightening the songbooks.
That night we received the biggest snowstorm we had had in four years. The girls were estatic-God really did answer their prayer.
They spent the next two days making snow angels and frolicking in the snow.
The snow continued to accumulate to 16 inches, so on the third morning, they rushed to the grandmother.
"We have to go back to the church!" They insisted,
"We prayed for snow and now it won't quit!"
God will always answer our prayers, often in ways we are not aware of. We just have to do our part and pray.
