The Big Double-cross
A kiss of betrayal soon leads to the cross,
We’ve all played a part in this world’s greatest loss.
A word of denial the rooster now crows,
Bitter tears shed the heart’s filled with woes.
A Murderer’s loosed our Savior is taken,
Hung on a cross and the whole world is shaken.
The earth’s now enshrouded in darkness and gloom,
He’s soon taken down and placed in a tomb.
The darkness of death could not keep him in prison,
The women went looking and were told He has risen.
Now the cross when held up in the light of the Son
Shows the enemies defeated for the victory’s been won.
This once lowly cross is now filled with power
As the Son nails the enemy and he’s made to cower.
Just turn to Colossians and there you will see
That all things against us Christ nailed to this tree.
Disarming the powers who thought they were boss,
Backfiring on them… the big double-cross.
Becoming a spectacle that the world will soon see
Because Christ won the victory for both you and me.
