Many things in human life change. Friends change and desert friendship. Whatever change may come, God’s love never changes.
Autumn comes with changes
In cold countries, autumn brings many changes. Leaves turn into brilliant yellow, orange and red. Hot air of summer gives way to cooler weather. Birds change their places and move to warmer climates. Even at home aroma of pumpkin spice candles and warm apple crisp fill the air.
Just as changes take place in physical seasons, many changes are taking place in the dynamic life of humans also. Man wants to change. Standards set by man changes over time. He is not satisfied with anything. He is always after change. Man is in search of love and friendship also meets with changes. Friends come and go as migrating birds. There are times we have to leave our friends or dear ones. Unfortunately man is often misunderstood, disappointed and deserted. His/her spouse turns insincere and goes away. Even the best friend in life, at times, misunderstands and turns against.
When autumn comes in our life we feel lonely
When such things of change happen in our life we feel lonely and resort to wrong kind of love. Many become addicted to bad habits. Disappointment and feelings of failure makes us hate our self. It is in this kind of situation that God wants us to rely on Him, trusting His great love.
God loves us as we are
Whatever may come and go God’s love is unchanging. His love towards every one is eternal and never changes. He is always declaring His unchanged love. “ I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.”(Jeremiah 31:3) Again and again He reinstates His deep love towards us. He promises through the prophet Isaiah, “For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” (Isaiah 54:10)
God is the Hound Of Heaven chasing after us
God is always after us seeking our love. Our love for Him is of great value. He loves us in the condition as we are. As the Psalmist sings, each one of us is the “apple of his eye.” He not only loves us greatly, but also wants to hear our voice. He is actually adoring us with His love. He is the Prodigal Father in His great love. He is ready to share our sufferings. He is ready to shoulder us. His words, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew11:28) are not mere words of flattery.
