Every time I think ahead
I fall so far behind.
I try to do it with my heart
But it’s crowded by my mind.
Happily ever after
Is that a way to live?
I know in that I am a fool
I don’t know how to give.
Yet I’m getting better
I’m reaching out to You.
All the lies fade away
Revealing all the truths.
I find that I defeat me
I don’t believe I try
Trying to make me feel good
It’s covered with these lies.
I must change direction
And find another way.
I think I’ll find the answers
If I could only pray.
I wish I knew the answer
But I’m afraid to ask.
I have failed the test Lord
Because of my bad past.
A mighty God stands smiling
At this frightened soul.
He reaches out and draws me
Back into His fold.
He gives me understanding
His touch cleared up my mind
How could I be so foolish?
Once dead but now I’m fine.
