Some time ago, I saw the movie ‘What does Love Got to do with it’ a portrayal of Tina Turner's life with Ike Turner. This movie conveys the harsh realities of pain and suffering when loving kindness is trampled into dust. I now know Love is for expressing Joy and Peace. Most offend we tell each other I Love you. My wife tells me that all the time. I response in kind, ‘I Love you back’ and wonder can her Love set me free?
Tina Loved Ike, but receive pain and suffering. in her case Love did not set her free. It as if you walked into a restaurant hopeful for sitting in a place of luxury instead your placed in a less desirable location. You don’t understand how you could be so mistreated. One might say ‘Where’s the Love’. Well not so in the Kingdom of God He provides eternal Love for all who obeys His word.
As true Christians, we are saved from the judgment of sin, through Jesus Christ death and resurrection. This right action of God allowed the gift of grace to indwell the Holy Spirit power to clean our sinful actions, if we are obedient to Christ. You know what I’m talking about, that small voice convicting us when we start to lie or seal. That’s the power of the Holy Spirit working in us. The voice telling you it is not right to trample on people feeling or to sell your worthless stocks or bonds. It is the voice guarding you against favoritism, disallowing members into the U.N., it the voice of Love speaking. The same Love Jesus had when He hung on the cross for you and me.
This world talks a lot about Love. It shows, little respect for the “Law of Love” most know, there is only one Law. The Jews wrote the law down. They are fully aware of being guilty for not following God’s Law. They lost God’s blessing and taken captive, the ones not destroyed for Seventy years before returning to their homeland.
Do you want the same punishment as the Jews? Would you like to spend more time at the edge of the wasteland, overseeing pain, suffering, and sorrow? Then stop your favoritism for others. Stop loving the darkness. The time is nearing where the Light of God will shine brightly in the sky just as He told us in Isaiah. For you people hide from the Light for fear of your sins will be exposed and you will be punished. But those who do what is right come to the light gladly, so everyone can see that they are doing what God wants.
