Think about a farmer who chose a fertile farmland, cleared and cultivated the land, and began to pray to God for rainfall and increase without planting any seed into the cultivated farmland. God may answer His prayer by sending rain, but at harvest time, he will have no crop to reap except weeds. Why? Because he had neglected the most important aspect. He had refused to sow.
BE NOT DECEIVED; GOD IS NOT MOCKED: FOR WHATSOEVER A MAN SOWETH, THAT SHALL HE ALSO REAP. (GALATIANS 6:7)
The scripture verse above reveals to us the necessity of sowing before reaping. If a man refuses to sow, then he must not think of harvest.
A young man came to me sometimes ago and asked why God appeared not to be answering his prayers for financial and material blessing. And I told him ‘because you are neither obeying God’s instruction to give to the needy nor following His biblical principles on how to attract divine blessing to your life.’
GIVE, AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU; GOOD MEASURE, PRESSED DOWN, AND SHAKEN TOGETHER, AND RUNNING OVER, SHALL MEN GIVE INTO YOUR BOSOM. FOR WITH THE SAME MEASURE THAT YE METE WITHAL IT SHALL BE MEASURED TO YOU AGAIN. LUKE 6:38
A giver is bound to be blessed. God blessed Abraham so that the world around him might be blessed. When you give out what God places in your custody for the benefit of the poor around you, God will be left with no option than to bless you.
