I’m up the stairs to get a hair clip and then come back down. Once I get here I realize I left my hairbrush upstairs too! So I run back up to get it and come back down again. Just as I put my foot quickly on the last step coming down, the dog is telling me he has to go outside.
Up I go again to let him outside. I ask myself should I wait or should I go back down until he is finished? It doesn’t take me long to think about that one as I am almost late for my dentist appointment.
Back downstairs I rush to finish getting ready. The clock is ticking fast and I still need to do a few more things before I go. So on the morning goes with what seems to be my hassled and hustled morning. The stress of what it is looking like is beginning to swell inside of me.
The dog is ready to come in now so before I leave the house I let him in then walk hurriedly out the door and into my car. I’m frazzled to say the least when I rush to turn the ignition key and find my car will not start! Now what?
Taking my cell phone out of my purse I call the dentist office to cancel my appointment I am already a few minutes late for. I then go back into the house and sit on the couch astounded at the day ahead. Now I am really feeling stressed!
I then do something I have not done all morning. I pray! After I prayed I realized what I really needed to do before anything else was have some real quiet time with Him. I get my bible out and start my devotions.
My unquiet mind more quiet now and the stress of how my day started have begun to diminish. Seeking Him first was what I should have done in the first place!
I still have to deal with the fact my car won’t start and my appointment cancelled along with how I rushed into the day in my own strength which made everything worse! I am now ready to re-start my day God’s way!
“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
